Problem

U.S. Navy’s existing manual invoice certification process was time-consuming, error-prone, and required data validation across multiple unconnected systems. This led to a backlog of more than 60,000 invoices, payment delays, and interest penalties.

Solution

Ignite Digital implemented a suite of UiPath robots to automate data updates, worklist creation, and LOA entry for Local Processing Officials. The automation leveraged PIEE (WAWF & EDA), NEST, and the IC Tool (Access DB) within Microsoft 365 and SharePoint. It featured flexible, browser-agnostic execution (Chrome/Edge), enterprise-level architecture for bulk processing, business rule logic, and fault-tolerant design.

Outcome

The deployed UiPath bots reduced invoice processing time per invoice by 75%, fully eliminated backlog, and prevented payment delays. Automated data entry eliminated manual errors, and background bot execution freed personnel for higher-value tasks.
